Introduction to Berardi Enterprises, Inc.
Berardi Enterprises has been in business since 1971, and is licensed, bonded and fully
insured. We are commited to quality service as well as fine workmanship, as can be attested to by our relationships with such well known home builders as: Continental
Homes, Fulton Homes, Hancock Communities, Capital Pacific Homes, Greystone,
Hacienda Homes, Ashtonwoods, Richmond American, and Elliott Homes.
A bit of history:
Joe Berardi was born in 1940 in Mola Di Bari, Italy. He sailed to the USA - his new home - in 1954. He didn't speak a word of English. Within the week, Joe was cycling through the streets of New York delivering groceries by day; pumping gas by night. At 18 he traded the bike for a produce delivery truck, and in 1962 was hired by a grocery chain as a produce clerk and manager. With this promotion Joe married his then and now sweetheart, Catherine. Three years later he was supervising 12 stores.
Stepping Out
In 1970 Joe caught the itch to step out on his own, founding a landscape and yard maintenance company that included excavating, grading, and landscape installation. It was ten years later that Joe, Catherine, their daughter and four sons took time off to vacation in Arizona... pretty soon they were here for keeps, once again in the landscape business.
In 1988 - a year after gaining the Continental Homes contract for all model home installations and maintenance - Joe incorporated as Berardi Enterprises, Inc. After moving to a new office in downtown Peoria and hiring Pam Rodiochin to help with office duties, Berardi's client list included Continental, Forecast Homes, Fulton Homes, Hancock Communities and others; focusing chiefly on grading drainage for home builders in the West Valley. Cindy Porter joined the Berardi team in 1999. With over 20 years experience, she helped take them to the next level.
Landscape rocks!
In early 2000 Joe's oldest son, Nick, after seven years with American Airlines in Dallas, returned to Aizona and to the family business. The expanding valley and water concerns made landscape rock an appealing opportunity that Joe wanted to add to his business. So Joe bought real estate - large enough at the time to store decorative landscape rock, dirt, mulch, sand, and flagstone for a retail market.
In January 2002 Joe's second son, Anthony, also returned to work with his dad. With a B.S. in Business Management and time with a Fortune 500 company under his belt, Anthony heads up operations for Berardi Enterprises, Inc.
In January 2003, we broke away the decorative rock division from Berardi Enterprises to form Rock 'N Rollin Rock Sales, Inc.
Back to the future?
For a company with such an active history, what does the future hold? Growth is a way of life for the Berardis, so we've added a construction waste removal business, purchasing our first front-load trask truck and six yard construction debris bins in late 2003.
Today, with a six-person office staff, five field supervisors including Nick and Anthony, 55 other employees, four transfer trucks, and a variety of 10-wheel dump trucks, flatbed trucks, tractors, bobcats, and loaders, we have been called an "All-American success story" (source: Freightliner RoadWise vol. 2, no. 2).
We would be pleased to have the opportunity to work with you in any of your construction projects in the West Valley. Please call us at 623-412-1005; we will arrange to meet you personally to discuss your needs.
